The Fomon nasal raspatory shapes the nasal bones smoothly during rhinoplasty. It is double-ended, with tungsten carbide rasping surfaces that stay sharp much longer than steel.
You can choose five grit pairs, from very coarse to very fine. First, coarse grits remove the dorsal hump quickly. Then fine grits smooth the bone for a natural contour. Gold handles also mark it as a carbide instrument.

Cleaning and Sterilization
Clean the raspatory soon after each use. First, soak it in a pH-neutral enzymatic cleaner. Then brush along the teeth to remove bone dust. After that, rinse and dry it fully. Finally, autoclave it with your standard steam cycle. However, avoid wire brushes, since they can dull the carbide.
