Our Olsen-Hegar needle holder holds the needle and cuts the suture in one instrument. Its jaws carry tungsten carbide inserts, while a scissor blade sits just behind them.

So you can tie and cut without changing instruments. In addition, you can choose 4-3/4″, 5-1/2″ or 6-1/2″. As a result, it suits quick skin closure in clinics and theatres.

Cleaning and Sterilization

Clean the needle holder soon after each use. First, open the ratchet and soak it in a pH-neutral enzymatic cleaner. Then brush the jaws and box joint with a soft nylon brush. After that, rinse and dry it fully. Finally, autoclave it in the open position. Also, check the jaw inserts often, so worn tips get serviced early.
